Route 6 is a ministry specifically designed for Grade 6 kids. They are the Senior kids in the Children’s Department at VAC. In just one year they will be “graduating” to Student Ministries. Route 6 offers a pre-youth type event every other Friday night at the church just for grade 6 kids
Route 6 Nights
Wacky Science Night on Friday, February 3, 6:30-8:00 pm, cost, $2.
This is one of those cool nights where we get to do lots of fun stuff with our kids and challenge their sense of wonder. We do many different science experiments and try stuff that maybe the kids would not normally do, but could easily replicate at home with their parents or friends.
Talk: When you put certain things together they will always respond a certain way. This is true. What is truth? Jesus says that he is the truth. What does that truth mean and how does that affect me?
Drive-In Movie Night on Friday, February 17, 2:00-4:30 pm. Cost, $2.
This is a fun event for everyone. At this event we get students to bring a big cardboard box so that they can make a car for their drive-in experience.
Talk: We watch the cars movie and talk about the importance of staying on track, and how, as students, they can keep their faith on track.
Clue Night on Friday, March 2, 6:30-8:00 pm, cost, $2.
This is a night of mystery, wonder and intrigue. We will be playing the classic Clue game with a few Route 6 twists. We will also be having a meal on this night. Students can dress up as a "New Character" if they would like.
Talk: We talk about mystery and wonder with the students, and that God, though he is mysterious at times, says that if we seek him that we will find him - that he actually wants to be known by us!
Easter Egg Indy on Friday, March 30, 6:30-8:00 pm, cost, $2.
This is a night with lots of Easter egg games and candy in it all. It is so much fun for the kids. We set up a race track around the building and then, in teams, they race around the track picking them up.
Talk: We will do a journey of the cross with the kids and talk them through the "Easter eggs." This is a night in which we will present the Gospel in a very clear manner.
