Preschool
We provide child care for preschoolers during the weekend services that is centered around God and His Word in order to assist parents in their responsibility of their children’s spiritual development.
Kid-friendly classrooms are provided for 2, 3 and 4 year old children. Children are encouraged in the area of giving. A money bowl is provided where children can support the care of a Haitian boy that we are assisting.
There is a welcome sign-in area upstairs where each child has an assigned numbered nametag. Our cheerful hosts will assure that you are aware of what you need to know about where your child will be looked after and can pick them up after the service. The tag you receive is required to be brought back to retrieve their child. For the safety of your children our volunteers will not return your children to you without it. Your child needs to be signed out when you remove them from the classroom.
There is a special LCD screen to the side of the stage in the auditorium where numbers will be displayed in the case of a call to the parents. Please attend to that promptly as there may be a problem with your child that requires your attention.
We have great teachers and volunteers who will lead your children through a variety of Bible stories so that they will become familiar with a God that loves them. The times with your children will include playtime, crafts and a story where they will learn about God, His Word, prayer, salvation/following Jesus, the Church and missions.
We trust that the preschool area will be a place where your child finds hope, love, safety, comfort, friendships and most of all a walk with Jesus. We want to do all we can to make you feel like a part of the family. This is a busy place and you might have to grab us on the run, but we welcome your questions/concerns and even suggestions for making this an even better place for your kids to get to know Jesus. Talk to us on the weekends when you are here or feel free to call (545-7105) or drop in during the week. You will find us in our office from Tuesdays to Fridays.
Nursery
A healthy, safe church nursery is one of the top 3 factors in parents choosing a church. We encourage our nursery volunteers that they are often the first impression that visiting parents get of our church.
All our volunteers have been processed through a criminal record check and are in compliance with the Alliance churches “Plan To Protect.” Volunteer orientation and training take place on an individual basis as well as group sessions. They are provided with a handbook which spells out all guidelines.
Volunteers are encouraged to use the child’s name, to pray with them, sing to them and play with them. Our nursery is adequately supplied with toys that are regularly cleaned. Sick children are not allowed in the nursery for the safety of the other children. For the safety of the child and the volunteers, parents will be called to change their child’s diaper.
Security is maintained through a sign-in sheet where each child is assigned a number tag, where one is attached to the child’s clothing, one is for whatever bag is left in the nursery and the third is given to the parent. That tag must be presented to pick-up your child and they must then also be signed out.
There is a special LCD screen to the side of the stage in the auditorium where numbers will be displayed in the case of a call to the parents. A medical emergency number of “99” is also assigned in the event that medical personnel are required in the nursery.
Our Nursery Co-ordinator is Liza Koshman and she can be reached at 549-2602. She can help you with any questions you may have. We encourage parents who are making use of the nursery to become involved in serving in the nursery. It is a great way to meet other parents, to continue to be involved in your child’s development in another environment, and to be a blessing to other parents who are also benefiting from this ministry.

The ZONE
The Zone is a unique experience for kids within Kindergarten thru Grade 5.
On alternate weekends the Zone kids are provided with their own custom-made kids worship time in the Fellowship hall. This is a great opportunity for kids to learn to worship God in an engaging atmosphere specifically designed for your child. Older kids will be given opportunity to express themselves as abilities allow in areas of action teams, technical help, and on worship bands. If your child plays and instrument and feels capable to be on the KIDSWORSHIP team, contact Ryan Bouman at the church for a private audition.
On those weekends where there is no KIDSWORSHIP, your children can participate in the worship service with you. This is not a second best alternative but an essential element in modelling worship to your children. As they see adults participating in the worship of our great God, they will feel more comfortable to express themselves in this way as well. After the worship time is complete, the Zone kids will be dismissed to go to their assigned areas.
K-grade 2 kids go to and remain in the Fellowship Hall. The children are required to sign in. Our teachers and helpers assist the younger ones with this and we ask that parents of K-2 kids come to pick them up immediately after the service.
Grade 3-5 kids will be dismissed to Roots which is located down the stairs from the coffee area. The children are required to sign in. They will be dismissed to find you in the lobby after the service.
All our Zone kids are provided with a curriculum based ministry that ensures they develop a clear understanding of basic biblical truths and where they learn to respond to God’s activity in their lives.
This exciting, high-energy and challenging area of ministry continues to be evaluated and will continue to be modified to serve your children better. We take seriously the responsibility of partnering together with you in the spiritual development of your children.
If you would love to be a part of making this hour the most significant time in kids’ lives let us know how you would like to get involved. There might just be a place for YOU!
Zone children are also encouraged in the area of giving. They are given the opportunity to partner with the preschool kids and raise the support needed for the care of a Haitian boy that we are assisting. More info can also be found at NewMissions.org.
