The aim of Marriage Ministries at VAC is to enable people to build marriages that will last a lifetime. VAC strives to provide tools to help grow healthy marriages from the time couples are considering marriage, strengthening current marriages and providing help in difficult marriage situations.
The Marriage Preparation Course
This course is designed to allow engaged couples as much time as possible to talk through the issues raised during the sessions. Topics covered are Communication, Commitment, Resolving Conflict, Keeping Love Alive, Shared Goals and Values, Nurturing Your Friendship and Developing a Good Sexual Relationship.
The evenings are very relaxed with a DVD presentation followed by coffee and discussion as a couple. Privacy as an engaged couple is always respected. There is no requirement to disclose anything personal to a third party.
Call the church office for the date of the next course.
The Marriage Course
This is a very practical course, giving married couples the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. Over seven evenings together, couples talk about important issues that can get swept under the carpet in the rush of daily life.
Each evening begins with a candlelit dessert followed by a DVD presentation. Couples then have an opportunity to discuss the topic with each other. Privacy as a couple is always respected. There is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything to a third party.
Next course runs from Tuesday March 11th - April 29th from 7:00-9:00 pm in the Arbour.
Cost is $40.00 per couple to include:
- Dinner the first night
- Desserts and 2 manuals per couple (every session)
- A renewed marriage 'priceless'
For more information, call Gerry at the church office.
Marriage in Crisis
Marriage in Crisis is designed to help couples going through times of difficulty in their marriage relationship. This course is offered in the relaxed setting of a facilitator couple's home. The couples who facilitate this course have all been through times of crisis in their own marriages. A DVD is shown followed by discussion with a facilitator couple. Because of the sensitivity of conversations, each group is limited to the couple taking the course and a facilitator couple.
For more information, call Gerry at the church office.
FamilyLife Marriage Conference
FamilyLife is holding a "Weekend to Remember" marriage conference at the Grand Okanangan Resort in Kelowna March 28-30. FamilyLife is all about building solid marriages. They help people see why relationships unravel and what can be done about it. They coach couples to find real meaning in their marriages. They lay out God's game plan for the family that can bring the desired results every couple wants... a marriage that you like being part of that lasts a lifetime.
What you hear about at a FamilyLife conference is not one man's opinion on marriage, but timeless principles for marriage and family relationships. Check out their website at www.familylifecanada.com. Info is also available at the kiosk in the foyer.
