COMMUNITY LIFE NEWS
We have been created for community. There are various opportunities to get involved in a Community Life group and share in one another’s lives. To get connected, contact Marni at 250-545-7105 or marni@vernonalliance.org.
Better Together: Friendship building, Bible study and prayer group for women meets on Thursday nights. Call Marni at the church for info.
Saturday Night Community Life: A place to connect with friends and meet new ones. Enjoy a conversation over coffee or bring your favourite game. Families welcome! Join us every Saturday after the service in Roots. until 10:30 pm, or in the Hall on Communion weekends. For info, call Marni at the church office.
Neighbourhood Life Vision
To develop a valley wide network of neighbourhood groups who meet regularly to experience discipleship together and to impact their communities with the love of Jesus.
We recognize that:
o There is a longing for spiritual community
o As the church grows larger we need to think smaller
o As ministry leaders we want to foster and arrange environments where neighborhood life can happen
o There is a need to help people find companions on the journey in their own neighborhoods
o We are the church in the Neighbourhood
It is intended to be an informal style of discipling: climbing the hills, trips to the lake, caring for the poor, worshipping together etc. We want this journey to be a multidimensional approach to discipleship.
There are three elements to Neighbourhood Life
o Learning and growing together
o Fellowship and social times
o Helping and service opportunities
